Update 2

The Historic Race Committee has met 5 times now since the October race meeting, in preparation for this year’s event. The date is now locked in, with Friday October 3rd set aside for practice @ 20 minute intervals for the various car groups and bikes, whilst Saturday 4th will be practice / qualifying in the morning and racing in the afternoon, whilst Sunday 5th will be racing all day. Saturday evening will be an informal gathering and we are looking at running another auction similar to last year. The poster has evolved and is attached to this newsletter, where you will note that we are celebrating 50 years of the Mustang, and we are looking at featuring early Holden only regularity pending numbers.

Additional information we can share:

  • alterations to the trailer park process to ensure a smoother collection of trailers at the end of the meeting has now been put into place by MST ready for the 60th HSCC meeting. The trailer park next to the dam has an inwards gate close to the start finish line, whilst the exit gate is further along towards the ticket box. This should ease congestion around the pit entry gate
  • We have managed to lock in a block booking on the TT Line for limited space. Sailings for this booking will be sailing over Thursday night 2nd October and sailing back to Melbourne Monday 6th October. A direct link to this booking will be placed on the HSCC and MGCCT websites shortly.
  • We are hoping to have entries out in April. This will enable Mainlanders to commit early and the committee confirming specific races much earlier. Entries will close Monday 22nd September 2014.
  • Just in case you missed this point, entries to this meeting will close Monday 22nd September 2014, no exceptions, no matter who you are!

We are looking at similar merchandise, book sales, model cars etc as this year, with a strong emphasis on a second-hand book and magazine sale. Donations towards this and the auction would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that the organising committee have the final right to accept or decline an entry if not deemed suitable, this will apply to all classes.
